October 9, 2021 Calvary Children’s Home Annual Thunderbird Club Picnic
11:00 AM Organizers are Lora and Joe Castellanos
Joe and Lora would like to be contacted by October 1st regarding your participation so they can plan successfully for this event.
Come join us for our Annual Picnic at Calvary Children’s Home located at 1430 Lost Mountain Rd., Powder Springs, GA 30127.
For those of you who have attended this event in the past, you know that it is one of the most special events we have. For those newer members, you are in store for a true blessing. Calvary Children’s Home (founded in 1966 originally for six orphaned children in an effort to keep the siblings together), has had the privilege of offering a home to well over 400 children. Their goal is to provide them with opportunities that challenge and prepare them for life in a difficult and demanding society by showing love, acceptance, understanding and encouragement.
We support this most worthwhile cause throughout the year and with the Annual Picnic. A good time is always had by all, and the smiles on the children’s faces are priceless. Come on out for great food, and a good time. The children always enjoy riding around on the property in our little cars, too, so drive your car that day if you can.
Our Club will provide items listed below, but we need you to sign up to bring various side dishes, etc.
If you are planning on attending, please call Joe and Lora Castellanos (770-714-6169) or email at joeandlora@mindspring.com letting them know you are coming (for the headcount) and, as well, with what you might be able to contribute toward the luncheon. We also use the Picnic as an opportunity to replenish the Home with needed school supplies, so please see the list (below) for items you might be able to bring to contribute.
ACTC will supply: Hamburgers/Hotdogs/Cheese/Buns/Paper Goods & Plasticware.
We NEED the following from members:
- Side dishes (ex.: cole slaw, baked beans, potato salad, etc.)
- Drinks (Iced tea, lemonade, water)
